The manuscript has the wrong title “al-Maqṣad al-Rafīʿ al-Manshā al-Hādī li-Dīwān al-Inshā”. The author mentions on f.266a that this work is written during the reign of the sultan al-Ashraf barsbay (r. 1422-1438 CE). Also, the book is written after the year 825 AH according to a passage on f.57a. Several commentary notes on the margins written by different hands. Some of the notes focus on linguistic aspects such as translating words between Farsi, Turkish, and Arabic. Other notes (often written in dark red ink and denoted by the word ḥāshiya) focus on geographical information and information from other inshāʾ works. There is a note on the margins of f.19a in which its writer rejects the idea that the Prophet Muhammad needed to be taught Hebrew and Aramaic by Zayd b. Thābit, and says that this is a disrespect to the ranks of the prophets. Several notes are no longer readable because the papers are trimmed. Completion of the main text in the margins. Several spaces were left empty in the manuscripts. Some of them due to unclear words for the copyist, and several others were left blank to be filled later by visualizations. There is two numbering systems on the upper left side of the recto folios; one in ink which is the right one, and the other is in pencil which is not always correct. There is also a numbering system in the lower right corner of the verso folios which counts the pages of the manuscript from left to write starting from page 3 and adding two on each verso side (i.e. 3, 5, 7 , 9, ……, 657). Reading notes of: Buṭrus Diyāb al-Ḥalabī (the translator of the French Sultan dated 1673 ( f.1a). There is a long note written by Joseph Ascari on original blank folios before the work which might have been left by the script to be filled later f.2a. The first flyleaf has the date: 28 Jan. 1876 in French.
