Manuscript description
Volume 1: Ornate title page framed by a golden line, and decorated with red, gold, and blue ink. The title page has a top cartouche in which the title of the work is written, and central rosette which contains the author's name. Margins contain: Several correction notes and commentary notes, and (in few times) used for highlighting the topics which are discussed in the main text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. The folio f.345a contains a comment which praises the famous Sufi master, al-Ḥallāj, since al-Maqrīzī was criticizing him in the main text. The title of the work is written on the sides of the papers of the manuscript. A note on f.270b mistakenly says that this is volume 2 of al-Khiṭaṭ .
