Manuscript description
Ornate title page framed by a gold line and decorated in gold, red and blue ink. The title page has a top cartouche in which the title of the work is written, and a central rosette which contains the author's name. Almost clean Margins which contain few correction notes. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins.
- Ownership Statement
The margin of f.1b contains waqf statement (written in 884 AH) which states that (this book is for the Waqf of Yashbak min Mahdi who made it available for scholars of the 4 Sunni madhhabs. Also, Yashbak min Mahdi ordered that this book would not leave his graveyard in the desert of Cairo, and that the book should be kept in the locker. There are two Keys of that locker, one of them should be with ''Shaykh al-turba'', and the other with the librarian, and that the locker should be only opened when both of them are in the vicinity. Finally, Yashbak stated that the librarian's son should not inherit the key from his father, but (...?).
