In the first volume, entries are also numbered in pencil. Some underlining in red and more rarely blue pencil. Some short comments and corrections in the margins. Clean copy in three thick volumes. Copied in Medina based on a copy from the library of ʿĀrif Hikmet Bey (d. 1859) for the library. All volumes are under the same call number. The physical state of the manuscript is variable, some parts very good, others (especially the last 200 folio's of the first volume and most of the second volume) have many torn and crumbling folio's. Volume three has water damage on the first few folios, and folio 5 has been replaced by a folio in a very modern paper in a very modern hand. The title page of volume 1 has a poem by Badr al-Dīn Ḥasan al-Thānī (?) al-Ḥuṣnī praising Ibn Taghrī Birdī and comparing him to the prophet Yūsuf. Volume three ends on a short section (513b-516b) containing a biography of Ibn Taghrī Birdī by his student Aḥmad b. Ḥusayn al-Turkumānī al-Ḥanafī, known as al-Marjī (this is also found in Berlin Staatsbibliothek Ms. Orient. fol. 3138 and in the edition of Muḥammad Muḥammad Amīn).
