Manuscript description
Marginal section markers throughout the manuscript. Like much of the manuscript, which is generally in rather a bad shape, the first folio has been badly damaged and restored by pasting the folio on another paper, which has resulted in f.1a (presumably the title page) now being invisible. One loose corner of this page suggests that it contained several notes. The manuscript has many correction notes and generally makes extensive use of the margins.
- Ownership Statement
There is suggestive evidence of a close association with the author of the text himself, as a waqf designation repeated on every quire of the manuscript is in three places (20a, 68b, 121a) accompanied by the statement “muʾallif-hu Yūsuf b. Taghrībirdī” (hypothetical reading for the last part of the name), perhaps indicating that the book was bequeathed as a waqf by the author himself.
- Colophon
There is no colophon, but the manuscript is very likely a fifteenth-century copy.
