Manuscript description
There is another manuscript with the same class mark. The title page says it is volume 2, however, there is a note at the end of the manuscript which says it is ''the end of volume 3''. Also there are a note inside the book which might indicate it is volume 5! Anyhow, this volume starts with the chapter of ''Dhikr Ḥārāt al-Qāhira'' and ends with a chapter dealing with Sulṭān Ṭaṭar (and a note which says that the following volume will start by ''Dhikr al-Masājid al-Jāmiʿa''). Few correction notes and comments in the margins. There is a note at the end of the book (f.189a, f.189b) (which the copyist of this manuscript has found in the copy of the work he reproduced) about the Sultans of Egypt starting from al-Ashraf Barsbāy till Qanṣūh al-Ghawrī.
- Ownership Statement
Title has the ownership of a certain Tāj al-Dīn al-Munūfī. The title page bears two seals of Muḥammad Bek Abu l-Dhahab who bequeathed (waqaf) the manuscript to ''his mosque'' (built in 1774 and still standing in Cairo). There are two Khedival Library stamps (f.1a, f.189b). The manuscript has been added to the Khedival library in December 1881 under class mark 17288 ʿUmūmī.
