Manuscript description
Not extensive use of the margins: comments and correction notes. 5 Added papers before the work(three of them are modern and not counted, hence the text starts on f.3b). 4 Added modern papers at the end which are not counted as well. The copyist kept the visualizations of the chessboard and the Uyghur alphabet which are omitted in some of the copies of the work. There is a comment on f.7b wondering why certain Shaykh helped the unjust ruler Tīmūr (which is mentioned in the main text), and explaining that by referring to god's destiny, and that God chooses his agent to fulfill His will (f.7b). Several Poetry verses (f.2a; f.2b). Reading note of Ramaḍān b. Mūsā al-ʿUṭayfī in 1078 AH, and unnamed one in 1095 (written under the number 239 followed by the Arabic letter ''shīn'').
- Ownership Statement
Several ownership statements of: Khalīl Muḥammad (the Imam of the Umayyad mosque) (f.3a); Aḥmad al-ʿUmarī al-Muṣilī in Constantinople in 1182 AH (f.3a); unnamed statements in 1214 AH and 1180 AH (f.3a); Aḥmad b. Abī Bakr (and his stamp) (f.2a). Bequest of R.L. Bensly (1831-1893) in 1895
