Manuscript description
The title on f.1a says that this work is “Kashf al-Mamālik”, however, the author in his introduction says that it is “Zubdat Kashf al-Mamālik”. The wrong catch-title (i.e. “Kashf al-Mamālik”) is written on the edges of the work. The two copy of the work in TKSM collection (A.2990 and A.3008) end differently. The copy A.2990 ends with advise from the author, and A.3008 ends with poetry. This manuscript contains a visualization and tables which do not exist in the other copy in Topkapi collection (i.e TKSM A. 3008). On folio f.4a there is a visualization on a shape of a flower which shows the time difference between several events since Adam’s existence on earth, and the day of the hijra of the prophet (where the center is the hijra date, and each petal is an event). Almost clean margins which contain few correction notes and few commentary notes.
- Ownership Statement
Waqf statement of Sultan Abū Saʿīd Jaqmaq written by Muḥammad Sayyid (?) on (f.1a). The waqf statement has certain stipulations which are rather difficult to read. Unclear ownership statement of (ʿAbdullah b. Saʿīd b. ʿAbdullah?) on (f.1a). Stamp of the library of Sultan Ahmet III (f.1b). TKSM stamp on f.1a.
