Manuscript description
Almost clean margins contain: very few commentary and correction notes (however there are several comments which have been trimmed), and (sometimes) the names of the ruler discussed in the text. Completion of sentences in the margins. Consistent use of catchwords. The main text ends on f.227a while f.228a,b contains a list of the rulers of Egypt mentioned in this volume of the book (ending with a note saying that this is for anybody who is interested in counting them, but you would find the details in the main text) (f.228b). Many papers are harmed by bookworms and water stains, but the main text is not affected. The mistara is clear throughout the manuscript. Papers are slightly trimmed. The folio f.1a has an illuminated rectangular panel executed in gold, (degrees of) brown, and blue which has the catch-title written on the upper part in an upper oval piece, and an ex-libris written in a medallion on the lower part which reads
“ برسم خزانة المقر الأشرفي الكريمي العالي المولوي الأميري العالي المخدومي السيفي قانصوه خمسمية الملكي الأشرفي أعز الله أنصاره بحمد السيرة''.
- Ownership Statement
