Brown leather with full-cover decoration (decorated with a central stamped turanj, two pendants, and a frame with four corner-pieces and painted in gold and crimson), and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover (stamped and in gold as well). The inside of the covers are colored paper.
Manuscript description
F.1b has a decorated headpiece: rectangular blue panel decorated by golden vegetal shapes and with golden geometrical shapes, which contains the title of the book. Almost clean margins: very few commentary and correction notes. Numbering: Arabic numerals. There is a wiped out date in the last colophon that is 25th of Dhu al-Qiʿda, then the Muḥarram is written instead. There is an old call number of the manuscript on f.1a “Tārīkh 199”. The title of each volume is written in gold. The name Ḥasan Pasha is written on the first flyleaf of the book. The Catch-title is written on the edges of the work. Volume 1 starts on f.1b and ends on f.183b. Volume 3 (starts after volume 1 as the manuscript is not organized) starts f.188b and ends on f.364a. while volume 2 starts on f.366b and ends on f.551a. Volume 4 starts on f.555b and ends on f.690b.

Ownership statement of Muḥammad (…) al-Ḥanafī f.690b. An ownership stamp of the library of Sultan Ahmet III (f.1a). TKSM stamp on f.1a. f.i has unclear note dated 1109 AH.

Volume 3 has the colophon of Fatḥallah b. ʿAbdullah b. ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Harmūzī al-Makkī in 889 AH (تم الجزء الثالث من العقد الثمين في تاريخ البلد الأمين صبيحة يوم السبت تاسع عشري ذي القعدة عام تسع و ثمانين و ثمانمائة.
