An autograph of al-Maqrīzī with many additions and notes are written by Ibn Ḥajar al-ʻAsqalānī. This manuscript was divided into five volumes during restoration (as it was believed that it was originally divided this way). There is a seperate notebook which explains the restoration process of this manuscript (which is kept in the same box with the five volumes). Many pages were left blank (or with large spaces) to be filled later, and many pieces of papers were inserted between the pages (some of these pieces of papers are more modern than the original work). Many comments and notes in the margins (very extensive use of the margins). Starts with the name ''Aḥmad '' and ends with the name ''Khalaf''.
