Manuscript description
Manuscript status: in a good condition (but not firm in the lid). Several notes in the margins. A draft of the work written by al-Maqrīzī (as noted in f.1). Reading notes of: ʿUmar b. Muḥammad b. Muḥammad (al-Mālikī?) al-Makkī in 839 AH; Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sakhāwī in (? AH). There is a note in f.1 that al-Maqrīzī has died in the 27th of Ramaḍān 845 AH (which is probably wrong since he died in the 16th of Ramaḍān according to most of his contemporary sources). This volume starts with biographies of persons whom names begin with the letter ''Aleph'' and ends with the biographies of persons whom names begin with the letter ''ʿAyn''.
