GAL II 39
V1: Naskh script. Ornate title page framed by a golden line, and decorated with red, gold, and blue ink. The title page has a top cartouche in which the title of the work is written, and centeral rosette which contains the author's name. Black ink with red rubrication and overlining, and inverted commas around poetry hemistichs. Writing Surface 205x128 mm (framed by gold and black lines). Margins contain: Several correction notes and commentary notes, and (in few times) there are announcemnts of the topics discussed in the main text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. Oriental papers. The edges of the papers are slightly cutted. Some papers are stained but still legible. F.345a contains a comment which praises the famous Sufi master, al-Ḥallāj, since al-Maqrīzī was criticizing him in the main text. There is a persian (or Ottoman) writing on f.a. No Colophon. Ownership statement of: (Aḥmad Pash b. Ibrāhīm Pasha?) in 1191 AH (f.1a). Two Bodleian Library stamps (f.1a; f.370b). The title of the work is written on the sides of the papers of the manuscript. A note on f.270b mistakenly says that this is volume 2 of al-Khiṭaṭ . Binding: dark brown leather decorated with central carved turanj which contains flowers.
