Manuscript description
Several commentary and correction notes (but not very extensive), and indexing of names and other contents (in few instances). F.5a has a non-completed title page which probably was meant to decorated (like volume 2 i.e. qq. 221), but it ended up being a basic gold frame and central piece. Catch-title (says the first third of the work) written on the top cartouche (on the top the frame) and a central piece bearing the author’s name. F.5b has an ornate title-piece bears a basmala and decorated with a niche. F.1a-f.3a contain an index written in red. There are two comments on (f.134a) by two different persons. The first person heavily criticizes the Sultan Al-Nāṣir Muḥammad who resumed the celebration of the Coptic festival ʿĪd al-Shahīd (in 738 AH according to al-Maqrīzī), and also criticizes the Copts who celebrate it during his lifetime. The second comment defends Al-Nāṣir Muḥammad and says that historians have never reported that he professed the Coptic beliefs and that it makes no sense to call Al-Nāṣir Muḥammad Kāfir for making such mistake. There is a note last page that says this is the first third of the book according to the author's division.
