Manuscript description
An autograph of al-Maqrīzī. The handwriting alternates from being clear and legible sometimes, to being unclear and mostly for personal use at others. However, I am not sure if it is written by two scripts or just by al-Maqrīzī. Very extensive use of the Margins at the beginning of the work (but mostly clean for the rest) which contain: few correction notes and Several commentary notes. Many corrections happened inside the text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. There is a long reading note Of a certain Cristian Orthodox scribe Ibrāhīm al-Kātib who says that he has read this book in the house of a wealthy (Archon) Orthodox deacon named “Ghobriyāl”.

Muḥammad b. al-Sābiq al-Ḥanafī in (Friday the 6th of Shawwāl 864 AH) (f.1a); al-Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Ḥamīd (b. al-Nadā?) in 993AH (f.1a); Ḥusayn (who is known as) (Akhī Zādeh?) (f.1a); Najātī Zādeh (f.1a); stamp of Muṣṭafā Darwīsh (f.1a); Muḥammad b. Fahd? (f.1a); effaced stamp (f.1a). There is a long reading note Of a certain Christian Orthodox scribe Ibrāhīm al-Kātib who says that he has read this book in the house of a wealthy (Archon) Orthodox deacon named “Ghobriyāl”. (f.252b). There is a note says ''Collated 1.8.69'' on an added paper at the end of the book.
