Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink with red rubrication. Rhymed prose in introduction marked with red dots. Writing surface 123x84mm. Old binding. Correction notes throughout, on 101b there is a long correction note in a different hand. Three notes on 81b, 92b and 101b are written by a certain Abu Ḥāmid al-Qudsī. Another note on 87a reads Muḥammad al-Tahāwī (?). On 81a there is a note stating the origin of a story, and on 82a there is a note commenting that the treatise first and second part are inconsistent. It is indeed true that from folio 80 onwards the manuscript is continued in a different hand, with a different, less neat layout (rubrics in large bold script with red overlining). Ownership statements on 1a from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad al-Qalʿī al-Ḥanafī, his son (presumably) Nuʿmān, and a certain Ibn Muḥammad al-Anṣārī. That page also bears a khedival stamp. 101b bears a stamp reading "kutubkhāna Miṣr".
