Manuscript description
Volume four: Naskh. Black ink with red rubrication, and dots around poetry hemistichs. Writing surface: 182x95mm. Watermarked paper: “Gouvernement Egyptien 1915”. The copying of the manuscript is dated to 7 Rabiʿ I 1336 / 21 December 1917. Two added folio’s have a table of contents.
Volume three: Naskh. Black ink with red rubrication. Marginal red text section markers. Poetry mostly not dotted. The two slightly different colophons which are copied consecutively date the copying of the manuscript to 9 Dhū l-Ḥijja 874 / 9 June 1470 and associates the copy to the historian ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿUmar b. Fahd al-Hāshimī al-Makkī. However, this is clearly a much more recent copy and this colophon was likely simply copied from the source manuscript (which is not identified). The flyleaf contains a table of contents. Taymūr stamp on title page.
Volume two: Naskh. Black ink with red rubrication. Poetry with red dots around hemistichs. Modern paper without watermark. Very few correction notes. Writing surface: 170x95mm. The two volumes enclosed in this manuscript (which are separated by four blank folio’s) are dated respectively to 13 Rabīʿ I 1337 / 17 December 1918, and 10 Shaʿbān 1337 / 10 May 1919. Said to be copied from a volume held by the Azhar Library (Tārīkh 709). Taymūr stamp on title page.
Volumes two to four of four unrelated volumes under the same call number. Volume one is treated in a separate entry as it is an old copy.
