Manuscript description
Chapter headings in red ink with pronounced orthography and poetry marked with red dots. Margins contain: some correction notes, numbered pencil notes which correspond to particular underlined parts of the main text, and one note on p. 66 indicating a blank in the source manuscript. The source manuscript itself is indicated to have been Tārīkh 2265 held by the Dār al-Kutub itself, which is itself a modern copy (dated to 1325/1907) made from a manuscript dated to 1113/1701 (Perhaps the Dār al-Kutub's Tārīkh Ṭalʿat 2015).

- Colophon
The colophons of the two earlier manuscripts are copied and state that: the original 1701 manuscript was copied by Muḥammad b. ʿAbdallāh ʿAfāf al-Madanī, the 1907 copy was made by Muḥammad Abū Jabal, and that the present copy was finished by Muḥammad Ḥamdī on the 18th of Shawwāl 1350 / March 7, 1932. The latter also notes that the 1907 manuscript was “very corrupted and [full of] mistakes” (nuskha kathīra al-taḥrīf wa-l-ghalaṭ).
