Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink (Titles and keywords are rubricated in red). Decorated headpiece (green and golden floral semi-circular piece) and a blank titlepiece. Clean copy with some notes and comments (some comments are written in Persian or Ottoman). Writing Surface 163x 80 mm (framed by Gold and Black lines). Unwatermarked Oriental papers. There is a stamp on f.1a contains two Arabic verses written by the Persian poet Saʿadī in which he praises the Prophet Muḥammad: "بلغ العلى بكماله كشف الدجى بجماله حسنت جميع خصاله صلوا عليه و آله". The copyiest frames his corrections by a golden rectangle. There is a decorated titlpiece which contains a bsamalah before the author's Khātima at f.166a and f.166b. The copyist kept the visualizations of the chess board (f.155b) and the Uyghur alphabet (f.160a,b) which are dropped in some of the copies of the work. No Colophon. The British Museum obtained this manuscript in 1817. Binding: Crimson decorated leather.
