Manuscript description
A very elaborately executed title page in gold, blue, and red, with the title in a cartouche on the top of the frame and a central rosette bearing the author’s name. Margins contain: very few correction notes and commentary notes. Several empty pages at the beginning and the end of the book (European watermarked papers). The edges of the papers are slightly cut. There is a long biography of al-Maqrizi written by the famous Egyptian historian ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jabartī.

No ownership statements. Note typed on added paper at the end of the book says: ''Purchased of the executors of the RevD WM Cureton D. D. Aug. 1864''. There is an English note written in June 1840. British Muesum stamps (f.307b, f.1a).
