Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink (Titles and keywords are rubricated in red). Red dots and inverted commas around poetry hemistichs, and red dots to denote sajʿ. Writing Surface 125x90 mm. Oriental papers. Clean margins. Completion of the sentences in the margins. The copyist kept the visualizations of the chess board while he omitted the Uyghur alphabet which is drawn in some of the copies of the work. Catch-title written on the edges of the manuscript. No colophon or ownership statements. Binding: (case-binding) cardboard with a flap tucked under the upper cover. Bequest of Reverand Professor H.G. Williams (d. 1870) in 1870.
