Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink with red rubrication and overlining. Red dots and inverted commas around poetry hemistichs. Writing Surface 200x130 mm (f.1b and f.2a are framed by golden rectangular). Oriental papers. F.1a has an illuminated rectangular panel executed in gold, green and blue which has an upper cartouche that contains the title of the book, and a central rosette (surrounded by four small medallions) which contains the author’s name. Extensive use of the Margins which contain: correction notes; several and consistent commentary notes and announcements of the topics discussed in the main text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. The mistara is clear in the entire manuscript. Consistent use of catchwords. Folios f.i and f.198b have several illegible writing. Some information written on added small papers in the middle of the book. Colophon dated 888 AH (f.198a). Ownership statement of ʿAbdullah b. Khalīl al-Ḥanafī in 888 AH (f.1a). An ownership stamp of Sultan Ahmet III library (f.1a). TKSM stamp on f.1a. Ownership stamp on f.3a. Binding: Dark brown leather decorated by a draw of turanj and two pedants, and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover. The title of the book is written in gold on the fore-edge flap. The Catch-title is written on the edges of the work.
