Dark brown leather with a decorated turanj engraved on it (with a flap tucked under the upper cover. There is a decorated paper attached to the binding executed in green, black , and orange.
Manuscript description
The edges of the papers are slightly trimmed. The folio f.1a has an illuminted frontispiece which has an upper cartouche which contains the title of the book, and a medallion which contains the author’s name. Margins contain: correction notes, several commentary notes, and announcements of the topics discussed in the main text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. Catch-title is written on the edges of the work. Reading note of ʿAbdullah b. ʿUthmān al-ʿArif (f.1a).
- Ownership Statement
Stamps of the waqf of ʿĀrif Ḥikmat in 1266 AH on f.236. The stamps of says: These from the waqf of Aḥmad ʿĀrif Ḥikmat b. ʿIṣmat Allah al-Ḥusaynī in the Prophet’s city (PBUH) and stipulated that the book would not leave his library (and that true believers would respect this stipulation)! Ownership statements of: Muḥammad b. Muḥammad (who is known by) Shāi?? (f.1a); Shykh (…) al-wāʿiẓ in the (…) Mosque in Constantinople; and ʿAbd al-Bāqi b. Ḥusayn (f.1a). TKSM stamp of f.1a.
