Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink with red rubrication and overlining. Red dots and inverted commas around poetry hemistichs and denote sajʿ. Sometimes, the titles and poetry are separated in golden frames Writing Surface 148x88mm (Framed by golden rectangular till f.9 then a green one till the end of the manuscript). European watermarked Papers. Paper folding: Quarto. Almost clean margins. F.1b has a decorated head piece: rectangular blue panel decorated by golden vegetal shapes and with central golden turanj (with a basmala written in it by not a good handwriting), surmounted by a miḥrāb which is decorated by vegetal shapes as well. Non-consistent use of catchwords. Numbering: in Arabic and Indo-Arabic. The diacritic marks (tashkīl) is consistently written throughout the manuscript. Colophon dated 1002 AH (و كان الفراغ من تعليق هذه النسخة المباركة في غرة شهر ذي القعدة من شهور سنة اثنين بعد الالف) f.178b. An ownership stamp of Sultan Ahmet III library (f.1a). TKSM stamp on f.1a. The first added folio has unclear note dated 1109 AH. There is an old call number of the manuscript on f.1a “Tārīkh 260”. Binding: brown leather with full-cover decoration (decorated with a central stamped turanj, pendants, and a frame with four corner-pieces and painted in gold and crimson), and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover (stamped and in gold as well). The inside of the cover is colored paper. The Catch-title is written on the edges of the work.
