Manuscript description
Colophon dated 878 AH ( و كان الفراغ من هذه النسخه في شهر ربيع الأول سنة ثمان و سبعون و ثمان مايه ) by al-Nāsikh al-Ṭarabulsī (f.207b). There is a note next to the colophon which says that the author of the book has reviewed this manuscript, therefore it is a correct one (f.215b, f.216a). An ownership stamp of the library of Sultan Ahmet III (f.1a). TKSM stamp on f.1a. There is an old call number of the manuscript on f.1a “Tārīkh 261”. Binding: Dark brown leather decorated by small tools of geometrical shapes (gold-tooled) and a frame, and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover. There are two stubs in the inside of the covers which are brown leather decorated by vegetal shapes. The Catch-title is written on the edges of the work.
Naskh script. Black ink. Red rubrication and overlining, and red inverted commas around poetry hemistichs and red dots to denote sajʿ. Writing Surface 140x100 mm. F.1a has an illuminated rectangular panel executed in gold, red, brown, pink, and blue which has an upper cartouche that contains the title of the book, a central rosette which has the following statement “برسم خزانة المقر المخدومي القضائي الكمالي محمد سبط المرحوم شيخ الاسلام برهان الدين الباعوني الشافعي عظم الله شانه) (surrounded by four small medallions) , a lower cartouche which has the author’s name (f.1a). Next to the authors name, someone added in black ink the words “raḥmahu allah taʿālā”. Oriental Papers (some of them are tinted in light brown). The Kurras number is written on the top left side of the recto side (quinion gathering). Margins contain: few correction notes. Completion of sentences in the margins. Consistent use of catchwords. The copyist kept the visualization of the Uygur letters in f.204b, and the chess board visualization in which the names of the pieces are written in black and green (f.199a).
