Manuscript description
The mistara is clear throughout the manuscript. Papers are slightly trimmed. The folio f.1a has an illuminated rectangular panel executed in gold, red, (degrees of) brown, and blue which has an upper rectangular that contains the catch-title of the book, a central rosette which has the rest of the title and the author’s name written in not decorated black ink (unlike the upper cartouche). The Kurras number is written on the top left side of the recto side (quinion gathering), and the total number is written on a flyleaf on the beginning of the work (i.e. 23). Almost clean margins contain: very few commentary and correction notes, and (sometimes) the names of the ruler discussed in the text. Completion of sentences in the margins. A note at the end of the book says that this manuscript was copied from the author's autograph f.227a. The main text ends on f.227a while f.228a,b contains a list of the rulers of Egypt mentioned in this volume of the book (ending with a note saying that this is for anybody who is interested in counting them, but you would find the details in the main text) (f.228b).
