Manuscript description
Naskh script. Black ink with red rubrication and overlining. Red dots and inverted commas around poetry hemistichs. Writing Surface 215x130 mm. Oriental paper (few papers are darker and the words are not clear in them probably due to the effect of metallic ink). F.1a has an illuminated rectangular panel executed in gold, brown, green, light-blue, luminous orange, and dark blue which has an upper cartouche that contains the title of the book, and a central rosette (surrounded by four center-pieces) which contains the author’s name. There is roundel to the left of the titelpiece, and light-blue and gold decoration above it. Margins contain: few correction notes; few commentary notes, and announcements of the topics discussed in the main text. Sometimes, the sentences in the main text are completed in the margins. Consistent use of catchwords. No colophon. There is a note after the colophon says that this manuscript was reviewed and compared to the author’s autograph f.250b. An ownership stamp of the library of Sultan Ahmet III (f.1a). TKSM stamp on f.1a. There is an old call number of the manuscript “Tārīkh 149?” and the name Ḥasan Pasha is written on an unnumbered folio at the beginning of the codex. Binding: Crimson leather with a full-cover themed decoration (stamped turanj and two pendants, and stamped center-pieces painted in gold with vegetal themed crimson decoration) , and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover. The inside of the covers are crimson leather and stamped with a turanj as well.
