crimson leather with full-cover stamped decoration (decorated turanj, pendants, frame, and corner-pieces painted in gold and decorated by crimson vegetal shapes) and decorated envelope flap tucked under the upper cover. The inside of the covers are crimson leather with a turanj, pendants, frame, and corner-pieces painted in light-blue (attached to the first and last folios of the codex).
Manuscript description
The comments in the margins are written within an enclosed frame which shows that the frames were added to the book The folio f.1a has well-illuminated titelpiece executed in gold, green, luminous orange, red, and blue (mix of vegetal shapes) which has the title of the book divided between the upper part and lower part, and a central rosette which contains the author’s name. And there are two medallions to the left of the decorated rectangular panel and a half-medallion in the middle. The Folio f.1b has a well-decorated ʿUnwan which contains a ''basmala''. The folio F.596b has a finispiece which consists of a lower well decorated block executed in green, blue, crimson, gold, and black. The text block is darker than the rest of the paper. Margins contain few commentary and correction notes, and highlighting the topics discussed in throughout the manuscript. Consistent use of catchwords. Starts with an index of the topics. There are old numbering in which the total number of folios is 598 and the newer one in which the number of folios is 596.
- Ownership Statement
On an added flyleaf at the beginning of the work, there is an ownership statement of al-Dhahabī in 1078 AH and an unclear stamp. Stamp of the library of Sultan Ahmet III (f.1a). Old TKSM stamp.
