Manuscript description
The folio f.1a has a well-illuminated titelpiece executed in gold, green, and blue which has the title of the book written on the upper cartouche, and a central rosette which contains the author’s name. And there is a medallion to the upper-left of the decorated rectangular panel. Clean margins. The mistara is clear all over the text. The papers are harmed by bookworms but this did not affect the main text. The main text ends on f.312b while f.313a-f.316a contain additional information which the copyist found written by the hand writing of the author about: Medical advices for various sicknesses , treating the head (i.e. cooling it down), why the teachers are not widely respected, the prohibition of begging, the meaning of laylat al-Qadr, advise for fasting, a prayer which people should say when they see the crescent, comment about how two poetic verses of Layla al-Ikhlīliyya should be read, a hadith which suggest that the end of time would happen after the people starts to (over)decorate the mosques, a note about how virtuous souls should keep praying to god “i.e. Dhikr” , how a woman during her pregnancy would figure out whether the child is a boy or a girl, and several poetic verses. The catch-title of the book is written on the edge of the codex
