Three days after the departure of Yalbughā al-Nāṣirī to Syria, a courier arrived from Syria informing that Tamurbughā al-ʾAfḍalī al-ʾAshrafī, known as Minṭāsh, governor of Malaṭyā, rebelled, and allied with the judge Burhān al-Dīn ʾAḥmad, lord of Sivas (ṣāḥib Sīwās), and Qarā Muḥammad al-Turkumānī, and the governor of al-Bīra, and Yalbughā al-Manjakī, and many of the khushdāshiyya of Minṭāsh amongst the mamluks al-ʾashrafiyya. A great group of Turkumān joined him. The sultan was inwardly anxious, but he did not let see this. He regretted to have appointed Yalbughā al-Nāṣirī as governor of Aleppo, but he was striving not to speak.

Then, the second day of Minṭāsh rebellion’s news, the sultan al-malik al-Ẓāhir rode and crossed the Nile to Giza, and hunted, and came back the 26/11/789.

Some days after his return, a messenger of amir Tamurbughā al-ʾAfḍalī al-ʾAshrafī, known as Minṭāsh governor of Malaṭyā, arrived and informed that he did not betrayed but stayed under the sultan’s obedience. (...) Then a courier arrived from Aleppo, following him, and informed the sultan that Minṭāsh did rebel, and sent the message that he was obedient, just to protect himself until the end of the winter, the beginnig of the spring and the melting of snow. Then, the sultan sent al-Sayfī Maliktamur al-Dawādār with 10 000 dinars for the amirs who had been sent to Syria before (al-ʾumarāʾ al-mujarridīn), and he secretly ordered to him to investigate Minṭāsh’s news, and the truth about that affair.
