-the troops that had set out for the domains of Ibn Qaramān intended to return to Aleppo, having taken 4 qalʿas of the domains of Ibn Qaramān, having destroyed most of the villages of his domains, having burnt his domains, having taken prisoners, having plundered, and having gone to extremes by burning a number of madrasas and mosques. That was the work of the riffraff of the troops.
-Also, he informed that they had not gone against the cities of Qūnīya and Qaysarīya, because they were running short of supplies* and because the troops were annoyed over the long duration of their stay in those domains, and the high prices of food and other stuff.
If it hadn’t been for this, they would have conquered most of the domains of Ibn Qaramān.
-(He informed the sultan also of the fact that) Ibn Qaramān hadn’t fought the sultanic troops, but had withdrawn to an inaccessible part of his domains, where he and the notables of his state had fortified themselves, hereby leaving everything else of goods and lifestock as a prey for whomsoever might take it. Great weakness had ensued from what had been taken from him throughout his country.
