820 AH, Thu, 01/10:
The sultan performed the ʿĪd prayer at the newly build maṣṭaba outside Ghazza and Shaykh al-ʾIslām Qāḍī al-quḍāt Jalāl al-Dīn al-Bulqīnī performed the prayer and the sermon. He left at the end of the day and arrived in Cairo at 08/10. The sultan stopped at the khankāh of Siryāqūs on Friday 09/10 and stayed there until Wednesday 14/10. Then he left, stopped outside Cairo and spent the night there. On Thursday he mounted his horse and left al-Raydanīya with his amirs and his army and entered through the bāb al-Naṣr. His son amir Ṣarim al-Dīn ʾIbrāhīm carried the qubba above his head. The mamluks went on foot and they entered the bāb al-Naṣr, while the amirs stayed on their horses, after the sultan. They -and the quḍāt al-quḍāt and the others of the ʾarbāb al-dawla also- received a tashrīf. Amongst them was also caliph al-Muʿtaḍid bi-llāh. They went to the al-Muʾayyadī mosque in that way and stopped there. Cairo was decorated and illuminated with candles and lamps. The sultan ate a meal, that amir Fakhr al-Dīn had prepared for him. Then he went to the citadel and entered through the bāb al-Sirr, riding on his horse, until he entered through the bāb al-Sitāra to the qāʿat al-ʿawāmīd. He dismounted his horse at his bed at the hedge of the ʾiwān, and his harem met him there. It was a memorable day.
