وفي يوم الأربعاء غده: استدعى قاضي القضاة شمس الدين محمد الهروي شهود القاهرة ومصر،
الجالسين بالحوانيت للتكسب بتحمل الشهادة وأدائها ليعرضوا عليه، فأوقفهم بين يديه، طائفة بعد
أخرى، وأقرهم على ما هم عليه، ولم يستنب سوى عشرة، وكان قاضي القضاة جلال الدين قد انصرف
ونوابه أربعة عشر، ثم زاد الهروي بعد ذلك في عدة النواب في الحكم حتى بلغوا نحو العشرين،

821 AH, We, 30/05:
Qāḍī al-quḍāt Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad al-Harawī summoned the witnesses of Cairo and Miṣr, who sat at the taverns to earn money by taking testimonies or realise them to appear before him. They presented themselves to him, group after group and he settled the number that he needed and only ten were left. Qāḍī al-quḍāt Jalal al-Dīn had gone and had had 14 of them. Then al-Harawī augmented the number of representatives in justice until they attained a number of nearly twenty.
