فلما سار السلطان الى نحو باب الستارة و وصل الى باب الجامع اخذه الرجم المفرط من كل جهة فاسرع فى مشيته و الرجم ياتيه من كل جانب و سقط الخاصكى الذى كان حامل ترس السلطان من
الرجم فاخذ الترس خاصكى آخر فضرب الآخر فوقع و قام و شج دوادار ابن السلطان فى وجهه و
جماعة كثيرة و سقطت فردة نعل السلطان من رجله فلم يلتفت اليها لانه محمول من تحت ابطيه مع سرعة مشيهم الى ان وصل الى باب الستارة و جلس على الباب قليلا فقصدوه ايضا بالرجم فقام و
دخل من باب الحريم و توجه الى الدهيشة
Summary
As the sultan moved towards the Bāb al-Sitāra, and he arrived at the Bāb al-Jāmiʿ, he was overtaken by an excessive numbers of stones, thrown from all directions. He started walking faster, while the stones coming at him from all directions. The khāṣṣakī who carried the sultan’s shield, fell because of the stones. Another khāṣṣakī took the shield. This other one was struck (as well), fell, and rose again.
The dawādār of the sultan’s son and many others were wounded in the head.
One of the sultan’s shoes fell from his foot, but he paid no attention to it, because he was being carried under his armpits, in spite of their moving quickly, until they reached the Bāb al-Sitāra. There, he sat for some time. Again, they threw stones at him, so he stood up, enterend the Bāb al-Ḥarīm, and headed for the Duhaysha.
