824 AH, We, 11/01:
Amirs Julbān and Shāhīn al-Fārisī, both amirs of 100, were arrested. The four chief judges were summoned to the castle and in their presence the receipts of al-Muʾayyad where sealed, after that 400000 dinar was taken of them to pay the nafaqa of the army. When the evening came, the people got upset, and the amirs and the mamluks dressed for war. Amir Muqbil the dawādār left with some of the amirs of 40 and of 10 and some of the mamluks and the ʾatbāʿ and they went to Syria. The next day, on Thursday, the amirs gathered at the citadel. Then he ordered and it was announced in Cairo to abolish the taxes imposed on the dredgers used in the building of dikes in the districts of Egypt . It was also announced that the mamluks of the sultan should gather to receive their nafaqa and every one of the received 100 dinar. It was also announced three times, in presence of the ʾajnād al-ḥalqa, that the money al-Muʾayyad had taken from them in the year 822, would be given back to each of them and they were very happy because of this.
