Summary
790 AH, 10/11
The sultan then wrote a letter to the amirs of Tripoli, and sent it by one of his khuwāṣṣ with instructions to arrest amir Kumushbughā al-Ḥamawī al-Yalbughāwī, governor of Tripoli. Kumushbughā’s sword was brought to Cairo on dhū l-qaʿda 10 (790), and disquietude was increased among the men by his arrest, for he was the oldest of the mamlūks of Yalbughā al-ʿUmarī and had been made an amir of 40 already in the days of his master. Amir Shaykh al-Ṣafawī then left Cairo with a diploma for Asandamur al-Muḥammadī, great chamberlain of Tripoli, to become Kumushbughā’s successor as governor there.
