وفي يوم الجمعة سابع عشرين صفر رسم السلطان للأمير بجاس نائب قلعة الجبل أن يتوجه إلى الخليفة المتوكل على الله أبي عبد الله محمد بالقلعة وينقله من داره إلى البرج من القلعة ويضيق عليه ويمنع الناس من الدخول إليه ففعل بجاس ذلك فبات الخليفة ليلته بالبرج ثم أعيد من الغد إلى مكانه بالقلعة بعد أن كلم السلطان الأمراء في ذلك.
ثم رسم السلطان للطواشي زين الدين مقبل الزمام بالتضييق على الأسياد أولاد السلاطين بالحوش السلطاني من القلعة ومنع من يتردد إليهم من الناس والفحص عن أحوالهم ففعل.

Friday, ṣafar 27. The sultan ordered amir Bajās, governor of the citadel (nāʾib al-qalʿa), to go to the calpih al-Mutawakkil Muḥammad in the citadel and transfer him from his home to the citadel tower, place him under restraint, and prevent anyone from entering to him. Bajās did so, and the caliph slept that night in the tower.

But the next day, when the sultan had discussed the matter with the amirs, the caliph was returned to his dwelling in the citadel.
The sultan then ordered Zayn al-Dīn Muqbil, al-zimām, to place the princes, children of former sultans, under restraint in the ḥawsh al-sulṭānī of the citadel, to prevent any of the people from access to the, and ti keep careful watch over their affairs. Muqbil complied with this order.
