ثم توجه الأمير قرابغا الأبوبكري أمير مجلس في يوم الخميس أول جمادى الآخرة إلى قبة النصر ثم عاد ولم يقف على خبرة كل ذلك لضعف خيول عساكر الناصري وكلهم من السفر فلم يجد الناصري لهم منعة فأقام بهم على الصالحية ليتراجع أمرهم وتعود قواهم هذا والأمراء بالديار المصرية لابسون آلة الحرب وهم على ظهور خيولهم بسوق الخيل تحت القلعة.

Thursday II jumādā 1 [actually, that thursday was I jumādā 30]. Amir Qarā Bughā al-ʾAbūbakrī, amir of the council, went to Qubbat al-Naṣr, and then returned without having discovered anything to report. This was because al-Nāṣirī’s horses were weak and exhausted from their journey; having found no supplies for them he had held them in al-Ṣāliḥiyya awaiting their recovery and restoration to strength. During all the meanwhile the Egyptian amirs remained mounted and armed in the horse market below the citadel
