Al-Nāṣirī then sat in a mighty council; in attendance on him were the vizier Karīm al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Karīm Ibn al-Ghannām, Muwaffaq al-Dīn ʾAbū l-Faraj, controller of the sultan’s special treasury, cadi Jamāl al-Dīn Maḥmūd, controller of the army, cadi Badr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Faḍl Allāh, confidential secretary, and other office holders. The Great Amir gave orders that sheep should be brought to the kitchens of the various amirs; and another proclamation of amnesty was made in Cairo. Orders were then given to amir Tankiz Bughā, raʾs nawba, to find al-malik al-Ẓāhir Barqūq, and Tankiz began following up various clues.
