Before this, however, al-Nāṣirī had assembled the amirs who where allied with him and had consulted them concerning the disposition to be made of al-malik al-Ẓāhir after his sapture. The opinions of the amirs varied; it is said that some - and they were a majority under the leadership of Minṭāsh - held that it would be best to put him to death, while the minority, led by al-Jūbānī, advised imprisonment. For the fulfillment of a purpose which God (Who is exalted) wished to fulfill, al-Nāṣirī approved imprisonment, and gave Ḥusām al-Dīn al-Kujkunī many instructions regarding him, as will be told in the proper place. Al-Kujkunī remained in Cairo attending to his affairs until II jumādā 19, when he set out for the seat of his governorship in the city of al-Karak.
