وتوفي قاضي القضاة جلال الدين أبو الفضل عبد الرحمن ابن شيخ الإسلام سراج الدين أبي حفص
عمر البلقيني الشافعي، في ليلة الخميس حادي عشره، عن ثلاث وستين سنة. وصلى عليه بالجامع
الحاكمي. ودفن على قبر أبيه وأخيه، بمدرستهم من حارة بهاء الدين، فكان جمعاً موفوراً، ومشهداً جليلاً
حافلاً مذكوراً. وانتاب الناس قبره مدة. و لم يختلف بعد مثله في كثرة علمه بالفقه وأصوله، وبالحديث
والتفسير والعربية، مع العفة والنزاهة عما يرمي به قضاة السوء، وجمال الصورة، وفصاحة العبارة
وبالجملة فلقد كان ممن يتجمل به الوقت.

Qāḍi al-quḍāt Jalāl al-Dīn ʾAbu ‘l-Faḍl ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. shaykh al-ʾislām Sirāj al-Dīn ʾAbī Ḥafṣ ʿUmar al-Bulqīnī al-Shāfiʿī died on Thursday night 11/10, at the age of 63. Prayers were said for him in the mosque of al-Ḥākim. He was buried in the tomb of his father and his brother, at their madrasa in the quarter of Bahāʾ al-Dīn. A numerous crowd assisted, it was a splendid assembly and a memorable gathering. The people stayed at his tomb for a while. There was no opposition to his example because of the abundance of his knowledge of fiqh and ʾuṣūl, ḥadīth, tafsīr and Arabic. He was virtuous and refrain from evil temptations. He was good-looking, eloquent in speech and in sentences, and he was one of those that become more beautiful when time passes by.
