وكان من خبرهم أنه لما استقر أبو درقة في ولاية أسوان سار إلى ابن قرط، واتفق معه على المخامرة، وسار معه إلى قوص، وأفرجا عمن بها من الأمراء المقدم ذكرهم. وكان عدة الأمراء الذين بقوص زيادة على ثلاثين أميراً، وعدة كبيرة من المماليك السلطانية الظاهرية

The report included these facts: when ʾAbū Daraqa was made wālī of ʾAswān he went to Ibn Qurṭ, agreed with him to revolt, and accompanied him to Qūṣ. They set free the amirs mentioned above who were imprisoned there, numbering more than thirty, in addition to a large number of the mamlūks ẓāhirīya.
