فتقوى الملك الظاهر بذلك وأتاه عدة كبيرة من مماليكه الذين كانوا بالبلاد الشامية في خدمة أمراء الشام، ثم دخل في طاعته الأمير جبريل حاجب حجاب دمشق، وأمير على بن أسندمر الزيني، وجقمق الصفوي، ومقبل الرومي، وصاروا من جملة عسكره

Al-Ẓāhir’s position was thus greatly strengthened; moreover, there now came to him many more of his own mamlūks who had been in various parts of Syria in the service of its amirs; and then amirs Jibrīl, great chamberlain of Damascus, ʾAmīr ʿAlī ibn ʾAsandamur al-Zaynī, Jaqmaq al-Ṣafawī, and Muqbil al-Rūmī offered their submission and joined his forces.
