وبينما هو في ذلك أتاه المدد من الأمير كمشبغا الحموي نائب حلب، ومن جملة المدد ثمانون مملوكاً من المماليك الظاهرية البرقوقية فلما بلغ جنتمر مجيئهم أخرج إليهم من دمشق خمسمائة فارس ليحولوا بينهم وبين الملك الظاهر فقاتلتهم المماليك الظاهرية وكسرتهم، وأخذوا جميع ما كان معهم، وأتوا بهم إلى أستاذهم الملك الظاهر، ففرح بهم غاية الفرح.

In the meanwhile he received still further reinforcements through the arrival of amir Kumushbughā al-Ḥamawī, governor of Aleppo; included in the reinforcements were eighty of al-Ẓāhir Barqūq’s own mamlūks. When Jantamur learned of their arrival he sent out against them from Damascus five hundred horsemen to take a position between Kumushbughā and al-Ẓāhir. The ẓāhirīya mamlūks attacked and defeated them, taking all that they had with them and bringing it to their master al-Ẓāhir to his overwhelming joy. My father said: “His position was thereby further improved and greatly strengthened”.
