ثم قدم البريد بأن منطاشاً أخذ بعلبك بعدما حاصرها محمد بن بيدمر نحو أربعة أشهر وأنه وسط ابن الحنش وأربعة نفر معه.

In the meantime, battles continued to take place every little while between the armies of Minṭāsh and those of the Sultan. A report then arrived by post-horse messenger that Minṭāsh had taken Baʿlabakk after it had been besieged for about fout months by Muḥammad ibn Baydamur, and that he had halved at the waist Ibn al-Ḥanash and four other persons.
