وأخبر البريد أيضاً أنّ منطاش لمّا انكسر من قرا دمرداش وهو مجروح أشيع موته فأقام الأشرفيّة عوضه عليهم خجداشهم الأمير ألطنبغا الأشرفي فلمّا حضر منطاش من الغد غضب من ذلك وأراد قتل ألطنبغا الأشرفي فلم يمكنّه الأشرفيّة من ذلك

The post reported to him also that when Minṭāsh had been defeated by Qarā Damurdāsh he had been wounded, and that a rumor had been spread that he was dead. The ʾAshrafīya had then established as their leader their comrade amir ʾAlṭunbughā al-ʾAshrafī, and when Minṭāsh arrived the next morning, in his anger thereat he had attempted to kill ʾAlṭunbughā, but had been prevented from doing so by the ʾAshrafīya
