ثمّ في خامس شعبان قتل السلطان الأمير حسام الدين حسن بن باكيش نائب غزّة كان وسببه أنّه لمّا عوقب واستمرّ محبوساً بخزانة شمائل جمع ولده كثيراً من العشير ونهب الرملة وقتل كثيراً من الناس فلمّا بلغ السلطان ذلك أمر بقتله فقُتل ثمّ طلب السلطان الأمير حسام الدين حسين ابن الكوراني من سجنه بخزانة شمائل وضربه بالمقارع ضرباً مبرحاً

Shaʿbān 5. The Sultan put to death amir Ḥusām al-Dīn Ḥasan ibn Bākīsh, former governor of Ghazza. The reason for this was that after he had been punished and while he was imprisoned in the Shamāʾil Treasury his son had gathered together a large number of tribesmen, had plundered al-Ramla, and had killed many men; when this was reported to the Sultan he had given orders for the execution. He then ordered also that amir Ḥusām al-Dīn Ḥusayn Ibn al-Kūrānī be brought from the Shamāʾil Treasury prison, and he was beaten painfully with cudgels.
