820 AH, 26/09:
The next morning the sultan went to Hebron and visited it. He also distributed alms there. Then he left and continued towards Gaza, where his ʾustādār Fakhr al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Ghanī b. ʾAbi l-Faraj met him in the village of Sukkarīya. He kissed the ground before him, and handed him a statement containing his count of horses, possessions, and other things. The sultan was happy because of this, as we shall tell later. The sultan continued until he stopped in the city of Gaza, on Monday, 28/09. He stayed there until he left on Saturday 01/10, after that he had prayed the prayer of the ʿĪd at the maṣṭaba in the outskirts of Gaza. He led the prayers there and Shaykh al-ʾIslām qāḍī al-quḍāt Jalāl al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Bulqīnī preached.
