واستدعى به قاضي القضاة جلال الدين عبد الرحمن البلقيني وخلع عليه خلعة القضاء بعد عزل
القاضي شمس الدين الهروي. ونزل البلقيني بالخلعة من باب الجامع الذي من تحت الربع وشق القاهرة وكان له مشهد عظيم.

The sultan descended from the citadel to his mosque near the Bāb al-Zuwayla. There he summoned chief judge Jalāl al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Bulqīnī and gave him a khilʿat al-qaḍāʾ, after he had dismissed qāḍī Shams al-Dīn al-Harawī. Al-Bulqīnī descended with the khilʿa from the gate of the mosque, beneath “the apartments” and crossed Cairo. A enormous crowd had gathered to see him.
