856 AH, 26/02:
He continued the judgeship of Damascus until his brother-in-law al-Malik al-Ẓāhir Jaqmaq -when he was mudabbir mamlaka of al-Malik al-ʿAzīz Yūsuf- demanded him to come to Cairo. He was appointed to the kitābat sirr in replacement of ṣāḥib Badr al-Dīn Ḥasan b. Naṣr Allāh on Tuesday the 17th Rabīʿ II 842. This was his last appointment and he stayed in this function until he died the day mentioned.
Many people grieved for him, because of his many good qualities, the greatness of his generosity. He was one of merits of the world: learned, virtues, generous, preeminent, diplomatic, modest, gentle.
He was one of the those we realized the means are to narrow for this summary of what we wanted to say in his remembrance in our history al-Manhal al-Ṣāfī.
